Innovation….with a twist.
…Empathy – the most recurring quality after years of focus on technology. Without creating reverberation within human beings and bringing delight into their life, technology is incapable of delivering the freedom it promises. Generosity – spreading advantages from the few to the many. Nothing more akin to the basic paradigm of love ‘the more I give the more I get’. Culture of learning – a continuing education as a way of life. Questioning the assumptions, whenever necessary, that have made us what we are. A road in which walking is fraught with surprise. Raw – keep it raw as long as possible. Better a passionate jump in the void, than a slow search to find the ‘perfect’ next step. Perfectionism has killed more projects than moving along quickly in the potentionally right direction. Importance of failures – unluckily, we have learned to be graded in school according to our ability to make fewer errors. This doesn’t work in innovation. The best that can happen to us is failing a lot, early, fast, and trying again and again. Passion is the propeller, never enough of it. Avoid autopilot. If I could synthesize in one phrase what I have learned nursing innovation processes in three continents, I would say: All the processes of change are personal. And if a change is valuable for you, enjoy the ride.
